Technically there is a fourth Forth bridge; since 2008, there's even been a fifth Forth bridge.
And a reminder that East Fife 4 Forfar 5 finally happened (on penalties) in 2018 (and Forfar 5 East Fife 4 all the way back in 1964).

How so?
Well, although some were quick to point out that he was bestowed with quite a bit of wealth from being royalty, he used a decent share for good causes. For example, he founded the The Duke of Edinburgh's Award which is active in 144 countries, recognising young people's contributions to society and encouraging them to act positively within their communities. Basically, the youths advance themselves and use the skills to help others as part of the programme. I have no idea how many young people have been through the programme, but there are about 9,000 registrations per year in New Zealand (a country of 5 million), 300,000 in the UK annually, and more 775,000 young Australians have gone through since its inception.

That and the manifesto he posted on the door of the Royal and Ancient calling for common ownership of the means of production and support of a world revolution led by the Fourth International as the inevitable outcomes of Marxist dialectical materialism.

Clearly people only like the royals because of American right-wing media. Not because they like, live in the UK or the commonwealth or anything and actually respect the monarchy. How could anyone be a monarchist without FOX telling them to, amirite fellas?

fascinating to see how the left wing american media has influenced people to have no symapathy whatsoever over the death of a war hero.

To be clear, I don't mean people who actually have positive opinions of him. I mean the people who want to turn this thread into a screaming match about Harry and Meghan, who want to loudly and publicly tout the greatness of the late Duke, not because they are familiar with the things he achieved in life and feel he earned such laurels, but because the battle lines of their culture war happen to have shifted that way. I don't mean to suggest that all expressions of respect and admiration are insincere, but there is a feel of plastic to some of them.
Well, I actually agree with you on most of that and I don't think dragging up the Sussexes' drama here is really all that respectful of the late Duke of Edinburgh, so I formally withdraw my snark. I hope you know me well enough by now to know that my expressions of respect and admiration are absolutely sincere, or I really have been wasting my time on here for the last decade.

It seems that the Duke of Edinburgh will not lie in state in Westminster Hall in central London, but will rather remain lying 'at rest' at Windsor Castle before a 'royal ceremonial funeral' rather than a state funeral; this was at Philip's personal insistence and is not a COVID-related adjustment.
The main COVID adjustment is that there will be no military procession for the funeral as both the Royal Family and the authorities want to avoid any associated events which might attract large crowds.
The plan was always to inter him in St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle; and since he died at the castle foregoing a parade is entirely straightforward. The doggos free land wrote:today is a bad day for the english

Why would you assume that?
It's the policy of both the SNP and Plaid Cymru to retain the monarchy if Scotland and Wales were to achieve independence, in much the same way that Canada, Australia, and New Zealand remain monarchies. If Scotland were to become independent, Elizabeth II would simply become Elizabeth I of Scotland. And it's not as if there aren't republicans in England.
Northern Ireland is more complicated, but there the issue is unification with the Republic of Ireland rather than independence for the six counties of Northern Ireland.
