I'm desensitized, because I have seen so much worse on the internet, and even on this very site before the mods cleaned it up.

I understand. But I’m not because I saw those signs myself and it wasn’t a good experience. I’m from Spain, and those signs left me rattled and dare I say a tad culturally shocked to see racism so alive and well in the US.

This is not to exime my own country from its myriad issues, of which racism is one of them. But I never saw billboards like that back home and it was jarring.

Looks like theres probably some dudes - or more likely one - who keeps putting on those from time to time. Given that it dates back to 2014.

Indeed. I would say the outright Nazis are still fringe. They thought Trump would make them tolerable to the mainstream, but he did not. Things would have to really go bad for there to be an outright Nazi takeover here.

Yes, that is why Charlottesville did fail so much on them. Nobody wants to be associated with that fringe.

TRAR, racism is a problem almost everywhere. Some places have it worse than others, but if you take out a globe and point at the first random country you see, I guarantee you there's racists there. Spain definitely has racism against the Roma and against black folks. They're also not fond of Latin American immigrants. It's not all easy living there.

Absolutely. But this also stems from the systematic elimination of African Americans in the area in the early 20th century. In fact, there were a number of horrible lynchings, bringing the FBI in and arresting half the town council and police for covering up. There are articles about it but most are behind paywalls. If you’re interested in the subject, Google some.
