And funnily enough the original divisions of humanity according to scientific racists placed "Semites," (Jews, Arabs, and related peoples) in the "white" category. Of course this all got re-worked and re-defined to suit the political needs of whoever is in power.

Need to keep the Irish down? They're not white. Wanna send the Jews to death camps? They're not white. The Italians weren't white, until they were. The British were Aryans until they weren't. In the United States Jews, Italians, and the Irish had to deal with the same "No [Insert Ethnicity Here] Allowed" signs blacks did, until the Jewish, Italian, and Irish communities assimilated enough and "became" white by American standards.
Racial classification based on superficial genetic traits isn't a true "science." It's a political tool people can use to divide others up into various "groups" for the purposes of control.

Yeah. Interracial marriages exist. And have, for a very long time. Companies recognizing that and deciding to put a mixed-race couple in a commercial is just that- recognizing a reality.

If there is any "plan" behind it, it's to increase marketability. They might widen their consumer base among both whites and blacks if both groups identify with someone in the commercial.

Often the correct answer to something like this is the most benign/obvious. Occam's Razor is a hell of a thing.

Because it’s not against the rules. The sites rules specifically allow for civil discussion- I personally even know a neo-nazi who still exist on the forums because he doesn’t talk about prohibited themes here.

I mean, dogpiling is legal under the rules, but still shitty. But harassment is not, and that's the only outcome I can see happening from this.
