Some people grow up with that. There are entire generations that don't understand certain things (and don't want to) because they grew up believing their point is right. That's generally how religious cults work, but a certain ideology can have a cult-like character as well. But this doesn't mean that they are because of that "evil"

Rhodesia and South Africa were two very different countries. To throw them in one box isn't fair, specifically since Rhodesia never had the disgusting system of apartheid as South Africa had. I have talked with many white supremacists. Too many in fact. I constantly read about nazism because if you're gonna stand against something, you need to know what it is you're up against. And while many nazis are indeed polite and civil in discussion, that doesn't change the fact that if they had power, the best I could hope for is to be deported to Mexico. That's the best I could hope for.

So it's okay for them to exercise their indoctrinated beliefs to mislead and misdirect others into considering that other people are literally sub-human? You want to simultaneously advocate for "changing their mind" while also trying to insist that they have merit and that they're the victims. White supremacists are not the victims of white supremacy, they are the perpetrators. If you want to stop white supremacy, you deny it the opportunity to have any common ground. Don't legitimize their beliefs, don't paint them as helpless victims.

Yes yes, dehumanize white supremacists, makes it really easy to kill them or other things. I'm not saying that their ideology is any good, it isn't, but perpetrating violence against them is merely stooping down to their level. Minds are changed by kindness and persistent nudges towards the right direction.

Changing the minds of white supremacists is a lower priority than protecting people from white supremacists and white supremacism, and kissing the asses of online Nazis and bending over backwards to show them respect is not going to change their minds, it is only going to make Nazis feel more comfortable in being Nazis and make members of minority groups feel less comfortable since you care more about the people who want to kill them than about them.

This is why I say that civil discussion isn't possible here. To show a white supremacist respect and engage them in debate is to tell non-white people that the value of their life is a matter you consider to be up for discussion. Which is not a civil position to hold, no matter how politely or calmly you express it.

Not within the confines of an ideal militant democracy, no. Democracy is preserved not by unconditional freedom of speech, but by a tacit agreement of the players involved to protect and guard the tenets of liberal democracy. Ideologies which are inherently against this ideal, seeking to disestablish it, e.g. Nazis, Marxist-Leninists, tankies, etc. are to be kept outside of the game. This is basically what we call gatekeeping.

So no, white supremacists should not be permitted to voice their opinions, though this should be facilitated through the refusal of groups to hear them out, not through the institutionalised usage of force and coercion. That one backfires.

Armenoid has a bit of a racial slur nature to it. And I never said all the words were slurs, just racial language that othered southern Italians.
