You know, I keep thinking...

About a decade ago, it was really common for older conservatives to grumble about "participation trophies" and how they made kids, specifically millennials, lazy and entitled. The thought was that, if everyone gets a prize whether they do well or not, it teaches people who are terrible at the thing in question that they're just as good as everyone else at it, and so they feel like they don't need to learn or grow.

I'm very skeptical that kids couldn't tell the difference, personally. But also, since it was always a conservative argument, I find it really ironic how much the right wing today has this "participation trophy" attitude, at least for debate.

Just because you're emotionally attached to your opinions doesn't mean they're based on facts. It's not enough to say "everyone has their own opinion, let's all hold hands", when some of those opinions are based on errors that can be proven to be errors, and some of them are doing active harm to people and to the environment.

Alternative facts are not facts, they are lies.

That is the issue I have. I have issues with Israel, ones that I think should use the US to either back away from it or place sanctions on it (this goes for "Palestine" as well.) That said, I can hear the dog whistles in that protest and to have it also be a blm protest, yeah that scares me.

Because most of these anti-Jewish crimes (in Europe in any case) are by Muslims and most Muslims are not white so it doesn't fit the narrative of those holding such political persuasions.

Mainly due to the fact that eliminating either Palestine or Israel would result in some pretty horrific human rights abuses by whoever remained. People need to stop killing and hating each other.
