Eh, I don't see Biden going for it: I suspect the conclusion from this 6 month report will be a "no" though I could be wrong. Either way, it's bad idea to pack the court- all because you couldn't appoint the judges you want.

I'm now fully convinced Biden does not have senility.

The issue is he doesn't have a brain.

I wonder how feasible removing seats could be. Take two seats out, with seniority determining who retains their position.

You can’t forcibly remove justices without impeaching them individually, but reducing the size of the court once there are vacancies can (and has) been done, through simply the same process as increasing it would use.

Well actually what they are suggesting, and it has been done, is that you remove the two seats. Now what would happen is that they would remain in their seats but anyone who dies in the interim would not have a new justice take their place.

The court was downsized but was quick resized before anything happened

Well not exactly. You could propose that justices don’t serve for life anymore. And just have them serve 12 year terms, not counting currently serving justices of course

Yeah, it could, but considering it’s staffed with a lot of conservative-leaning scholars too, I doubt it will.

I took the “determine who would retain their position” to mean that they were proposing reducing the size and kicking out two justices immediately, but yeah that second part’s fair, I had forgotten the exact details.

Containment of Russia mainly.

Seems this plan to contain Russia has made things much worse big time. Sort of like the saying

.

Seems because of western containment and western missiles which supposedly are better at destroy Russian ballistic missiles, Russia has gone and invented the Poseidon Drone. Found about this today. Did not even know something like this existed. It was invented in 2015. Its a very long torpedo which a 200 megaton nuke. The largest ever nuke tested was done by Russia and it was 50 megatons. This torpedo when its set off is supposed to generate a 500 meter (1500 ft.) Tsumani. Has an extra surprise the Russians made this weapon highly radioactive which means the Tsunami is highly radioactive.

Our ABMs are of dubious value even against the North Koreans lol the Russians have thousands of missiles all across Siberia and under the ice sheet on subs their deterrent is not in any danger of being neutralized

Putin’s geopolitical fears about NATO and the west are one thing, but it’s another to say NATO is actually capable of or interested in neutralizing the Russian military in one fell swoop. They’ll say whatever they want to justify Poseidon and Avangard and the like, the reality is it’s just weapons development following its logical course, not that there’s any pressing need for new ways to vaporize each other en masse.

200Mt is the sticker value from Moscow, anyways, in reality it’d likely be lower (though still terrifyingly huge).

Anyways, yeah, it’s a nightmarish and stupid weapon. The only purpose seems to be to indiscriminately wreck coastal metro areas.
