...I doubt it. Even in a high-profile case like this, I don't believe the legislative or executive branch is briefed on the outcome before the announcement by the presiding judge. Still, I understand the apprehension. My understanding of it is that big city mayors recognize the possibility of an adverse outcome and just want to be as proactive as possible, just in case.

No, I get it, I have the butterflies in my stomach too. I guess it is within the realm of possibility that someone in the courthouse would informally tip the administration off (and assume a ton of risk in doing so), but I also don't see it as particularly likely.
