Ngl, quite the bold move on Austreylia's part to try to gaslight his way out of accusations of past gaslighting.

That little faux pas has tainted your entire argument from then onwards, as it's clear what your agenda is now, there's no hiding it.

But what offence was I thinking of when I said throw the book at him? Did I mention which offence I was referring to at the time? No? Oh. Hm.

In the context of what we are talking about—a man dying while being restrained—it is clear what "throw the book at him (Chauvin)" means, so don't play innocent, that asinine little game isn't fooling anyone. You want him acquitted to spite people, despite thinking he's guilty.

I didn't actually specify what offence I was referring to when I said "throw the book at him", so you can't make an assumption.

I was referring to a charge such as assault/battery or whatever, and that was based off of me seeing about five seconds of a heavily edited and sensationally-captioned video on social media.

Saiwania wrote:The local police probably dropped the ball in how he was detained, yes the police are supposed to intercept someone passing counterfeit currency but I suspect that the US Secret Service would've done a better job in handling this, being that anti-counterfeiting is one of their main missions and they're federal agents. The issue is that you can be using a fake bill and not even be aware of it, because physical currency can change hands so frequently for small transactions.

The counterfeit bill perhaps wasn't the worst fake out there, because usually you can just tell by touch alone if a treasury note isn't of the right paper that is used for money and if anything looks too out of place, it'd more likely be set aside for further verification. Anti-counterfeit pens are said to sometimes give false positives on bills that're too old but are otherwise genuine but would get marked as fake because its not the same as current US currency.

Never thought I see the day I agree with you, Saiwania, but yes. Of course, if he was doing a crime, he deserved to face justice for that but the way this was handled was all wrong.

This is like, basic life knowledge. If the cops had "no reason to suspect" that kneeling on the thing that allows people to breathe would mean Floyd couldn't breathe, then they are so incredibly incompetent they should've never been allowed to join the police.

He was still talking, just as he was earlier. To them, it was like he was crying wolf.

They have no reason to happily believe some guy, who first tried to use a forged $20 bill, and then resisted arrest.

1. You can speak while unable to breathe because that’s how the respiratory system works.
2. It is likely that he didn’t know the 20 was counterfeit.
3. Trying to breathe while handcuffed on the pavement isn’t resisting arrest.

It's clear from the context what precisely was meant.

If multiple people criticize you for having a bad take and lying about it, that's because they're a bunch of mindless drones with no individuality.

Now, let me tell you all about how I based my opinion on the culpability of a killer cop entirely on the actions of an unrelated and undefined collective.

I love this contemporary far right neurosis around the idea of being a perfectly independent individual. Contemporary far right wingers are terrified by the very idea that they might be in any way conditioned by their social relationships.

Better than the marxists and liberals who are supported by corporations and media, and still think that they're part of the resistance.

Lol you sabotaged your own argument from the starting block by going with the "throw the book at him" thing indicating you thought he was guilty of what happened, and then ignoring that when you said that he should be acquitted to spite people. From then onwards your entire argument has been tainted, as you are desperately wanting him to be acquitted in order to "spite people" (and thus you are wilfully ignoring the fact you think he's guilty) and trying to distort the case by cherrypicking evidence. Since your first posts here you have been trying various things to gaslight folk into thinking that your original argument actually wasn't as stated, even though folk can go back and read it for themselves and can see that it's clear you thought he was guilty.

In any case, I'll still be made out to be satan, as I'm one of the only people posting here who doesn't get my opinions from the Snapchat story page, r/politics or twitter.

You can't really pull the "only seen five seconds" thing after you already showed to us you have watched at least some of the 1 hour raw body cam footage.

Yeah, you are also one of the only people here who's going out of his way to lie about what happened in a video everyone here saw.

Also, stop assuming. Assuming random shit about your opponents is not a valid argument either. It's lazy and reveals your lack of curiosity.

Yeah it's obvious that corporations and corporate-owned media are marxists... oh, wait, you mean the Warren Buffet quote « There’s class warfare, all right, but it’s my class, the rich class, that’s making war, and we’re winning. » ?

And you don't think that your desire to see Chauvin acquitted to spite people has tainted your reading of the evidence in the interim and thus caused this desperate clawing at any excuse for acquittal, even going as far as to lie and distort evidence to make it seem like it's valid to acquit him?
