No, it never was. The world is a complicated place. Human beings are the most complicated machinery in the entire known universe, they definitely don't fit neatly is two arbitrary defined cases. Even on a purely biological level there are people like XXY. And it gets much more complicated when we start considering psychology and sociology.

Refusing to acknowledge that your ultra-simplified model doesn't fit the complex and varied reality is a mistake. Going from that to denying rights to people and imposing them to live according to arbitrary rules that hurt them is criminal.

He is only admired by the Arab princes, he is a man against LGBT and all things beautiful. The Turkish Union should be established in accordance with European Union standards, and together, LGBT people should have the freedom to make love. Political Islamists can't think of this

"It's confusing to me" is not exactly an argument in your favor, darling.

It's one of those cases where reality overshoot fiction. You'll never see the villain in fiction saying "I'm too limited to understand complicated things, so I'll just oppress people until the world is simple enough for my understanding", would feel like the author is too lazy to have a credible villain. But yes in reality it seems some people can say that, and feel they are scoring points.
