Well, if what the Republic of Fore says would apply to everyone, that means you could refuse someone for being straight or white. It doesn’t just go one way.

These kind of laws aren't just an abstraction to me, as someone who's had to go to the emergency room before, in the rural South too, it was terrifying having to disclose that I was on hormone replacement therapy to the doctors that treated me.

Fortunately the doctors I've met take medical ethics more seriously than posters on internet forums, I'm honestly really lucky in that regard, but it is a major risk that shouldn't exist.

Hormone treatments for teens who want them are not abuse.

Surgery can and should wait until people are adults, but there are benefits to starting hormone treatment earlier so that people who are planning to transition can do it more smoothly.

Why can't these "people" read some history on the overall progress of civil rights in general, in this instance the public's views on sexual freedoms? First of all, providing hormone blockers to trans teens is not "child abuse". Every time right-wingers say it is, they're not just defaming both trans youth and trans healthcare professionals, they are also banalizing the suffering of actual victims of child abuse.

Second of all, trans minors not receiving surgery was already pretty much the professional standard. In that regard, right-wingers are either knowingly lying to scaremonger or don't know the first thing about trans healthcare and are just talking out of their asses.
