The backlog of…422 ships has ended, as every vessel that had been blocked by the Evergiven has now passed safely through the canal. In addition, the probe into what caused the incident is expected to be completed in 2 days

Should probs correct the title tbh... because Ever Given is still stuck... but for a completely different reason: Suez Canal Authority demanding compensation. Probs in the billion dollar figures.

Don't they have their own people steer the ships through the canal?

Atm we don't know. There's been some rumours that the pilots abandoned ship and left the crew to themselves before this happened, but those are just rumours pending the investigation.
