I thought it was just anti lockdown.

That seems to be the primary focus, but there is likely some anti-covid vaccine rhetoric being thrown around as well.

Edit: Will clarify that I haven't seen anything specific regarding this, so it is merely speculation on my part.

In my experience hearing people bitch about the lockdown, a lot of them are against it because they don't believe COVID is that serious or dangerous and thus it makes sense they're also against the vaccine

Thoughts on racial disparities in the US for COVID-19 mortality rates



I'm pretty sure most of the differences we see across racial groups are due to differences in average socioeconomic status and educational attainment. But there are still some interesting differences across racial groups, even after controlling for education.

1) Black Americans with post-secondary education have noticeably higher mortality rates than their White counterparts, while 2) Latinos have noticeably lower mortality rates than Whites and Blacks at every educational level. Meanwhile, 3) Asian/PI Americans' mortality rates resemble those of Latino Americans, but with drastically lower mortality rates at the Less-than-HS and postgraduate levels. (AIAN should be fairly obvious.)

I would attribute 1 to systemic anti-black racism within US society that contributes to increased stress among black Americans, and 2 to cultural factors that are peculiar to Hispanophone Latin America (strong family ties, celebratory attitude towards life and living) and their diaspora, although there might be some survivorship bias-like impact from the successful immigrant experience that persists for a couple generations?

3 is harder to explain, because idk why it would only apply to the least and most educated Asians/PIs. My best guess is that the relative recency of the Asian immigrant experience means that the "less than HS" Asian population is disproportionately elderly family reunification immigrants who live in multigenerational households with their adult children, while postgraduate educated immigrants tend to be more in touch their home countries' cultures, and likely to follow public health/social distancing protocol?

It's also possible that postgraduate Asians/PIs are more likely to work from home due to being less likely to be in clinical healthcare fields. But who knows.

When you declare your healthcare workers to be the enemy of the people, honestly that’s just natural selection talking. All of these people are proud plague-spreaders and they make me even more supportive of mandated vaccine IDs. At some point the stupidity turned into malice, and once we have malice it needs to be culled by ostracizing these people from society until they get vaccinated.

Why? Even before the pandemic, it was common in many countries to wear a mask when one was feeling sick with the cold or flu or something to avoid spreading it to others that was just good manners (something I wish was present in the U.S). Also, it was already being speculated before the pandemic that masks to help purify polluted air would become a common functional fashion accessory, like sunglasses, and some players in fashion were already thinking of ways to design new styles for masks. Masks also helps people to have more annonymity and to disguise their facial expressions, which can be very helpful for some neurodiverse people who struggle with social cues and expressions. Masks can help protect the face from UV radiation. Plenty of gender non-conforming people and non-binary people use masks to help disguise their jawline. Masks are great. Now I am not saying that they should be mandated (except during a public health emergency/natural disaster/PANDEMIC), or that they don't have problems (they can rub off sunscreen, irritate the skin on the face, cause a build up of humidity, etc...), or that they are appropriate in all cases (after all my deaf mother has had a lot of difficulty with not being able to read peoples lips), but we should not just categorically reject wearing a mask because of a negative experience during the Covid-19 pandemic.

True but online comments have never been a predictor of anything, If they were my state would have elected its first female governor in 2018 or the incumbent having won the primary would have lost the general.

Some of those people who haven't gotten it are due to health reasons such as having an autoimmune disease.

Being unable to get vaccinated and outright refusing the vaccine are two deferent things. The VAST majority of those that remain unvaccinated is because they are refusing the vaccine.
