The government doesn't do it explicitly because the FBI categorizes right wing extremist groups as less dangerous than Islamist and leftist extremist groups.

Quite honestly, I think the American far-right is less tolerant of Jews than they were a decade and a half ago. I think this is because Paleoconservativism is at one of it’s strongest points in American politics. I’ve noticed that the far-right doesn’t love Israel like they used to when GWB was in office.
