Why do people still think that a 1% death rate is acceptable? If we let the virus run its course on the 7 billion world population unimpeded then 70 million people would die, which is equal to WW2.

Some people really just want things to go back to normal, even if it costs a ton of lives.

With all the news about the variants continually popping up and seemingly getting worse I kind of have doubts that normality will ever return though. Expect the worst and hope for the best and all that.

The Moderna and Pfizer vaccines can be easily modified to combat any variants in the virus. You might have to get a few boosters here and there but normalcy is right around the corner and quicker than many believe

Even then, not everyone gets antibodies after contracting. It would run through again and again until we get lucky with antibodies.
(Also, this scenario is implying nobody had immunity before the fact. Get your vaccine. Stop global corona)

Unlikely. Sure the stats would take a hit but it would eventually level out and become sorta like the flu. Most people won’t die from it but it won’t be fun to get sorta thing

What’s fascinating is covid like the ex-president has redefined relationships.

A few friends are no longer friends and relatives as they talked like that. Never got the impression they were that selfish. A couple people who I thought were kind of jerks are now friendly. They were concerned over the amount of death; etc.

Better yet, I was under the impression that those vaccines are nearly as effective in combatting the variants, as the variants are genetically really quite similar.

Getting my 1st dose tomorrow, little worried because some of my family got a little sick after receiving the vaccines, but I would assume that is just the body trying to respond to the vaccine and building up the immune system. Either way I think it'll go just fine, I wish everyone good health.

It is not that I don't trust it, the whole idea that the vaccine causes all these weird things is absolutely wrong. But for me, I rather distance myself from people and wear my mask than take the vaccine, since it is new and all. But if you want the vaccine then go ahead get it!

I'm glad everybody is getting the vaccine. While at first I really wanted to get the vaccine., I think I will wait. It is not that I don't trust it, the whole idea that the vaccine causes all these weird things is absolutely wrong. Those adverse reactions are the exception, not the rule. The drug companies and the government have to tell you about them, it's not like they happen all the time. I don't know what the frequency of bad side effects is but I suspect it's very, very low.

And I kind of like having a third eye, y'know?

Eh, that is pretty weak encouragement from Donald Trump. I’m looking for him to appear in PSAs encouraging his supporters to get vaccinated. I would even ignore him taking credit for it. And have these PSAs run nonstop on Fox News.
