Do you wash your hands, Lumen? Before the germ theory of disease was discovered, sanitation wasn't considered something to do regularly.

No pandemic is forever.
Of course, two options:
1. We take action to end the pandemic quickly and on our terms while saving as many lives as possible
OR 2. we wait until the pandemic ends by everybody who has the virus dying off, which will take longer if it's even possible.
I know which option I'd like for us to take

Especially if it's something we could have nipped in the bud early on, if only people like you hadn't made it impossible.
It won't be 80 years. If history is a guide the average is two years. The only pandemics that lasted longer were cholera and bubonic plague neither of which is airborne.

Polio was identified in oh I think 1908 by some Austrian dude?. The US didn't eliminate it til about 1979. Even then it still exists in the world....
How long will this one be? Unknown at this point. Resources that could be used to find better meds are being spent on the people to survive the lockdowns since 45 was such a moron for managing.

There is a pill Pfizer is developing that should be out by the end of the year. There is also a cholesterol drug called Fenofibrate that is showing promise as a possible cure.

You've jumped on every single "possible cure" that's been mentioned by the media since this started.
