[Socialist States of Ludistan]

Hello everyone, I am a classic liberal, also known as a capitalist. Capitalism is a pretty mainstream ideology, and what I mean by that is that most people in the world follow it.
But in my time playing NS I have noticed there’s a lot of communists too, and what actually makes me happy is that a lot of them also are a part of the communist party in their country.
However, I sometimes sadly have a hard time understanding the minds of communists, you see, I’m from Denmark, and here we don’t see homeless people around every corner, so I don’t really see the oppression that most communists say there is by big corporations, I only see oppression by the state, and that’s on TV.
So I just want to have a talk with some communists, and do my very best to try to understand their point of view, and I hope you’ll try to understand mine too, however that’s not a necessity.
Fellow capitalists are of course allowed too, just be nice, the same goes for the communists.

It probably is, but I just want it to be a peaceful talk where I try to understand what you think. Now, I’m aware this is quite a rough start, but thoughts about Stalin?

You have failed to distinguish between different variants of communism. Stalin was a Marxist-Leninist. Marxism-Leninism is an ideology I find to be repugnant. However, there are other forms of communism, such as council communism and anarcho-communism that I am quite amicable to.

Stalinism is merely a variant of Marxism-Leninism, just like Maoism is a variant of Marxism-Leninism.

As a Communist who has seen way too many homeless people in the US, the corporations are at fault, human error will always result from the corruption of money. The state has to have the power to enact the Greater Will. In practice I'd settle for Democratic Socialism

True, but most forms of communism are just variants of other forms of communism, which is why I didn’t really take the time to distinguish them. Of course, anarcho-communism is nothing like the rest, but still, I’m primarily focusing on statist communists.

Statist communism is one variety. Council communism and anarcho-communist are both generally anti-statist.

And I have to say, wasn’t Lenin a dictator too?
I might not be right, but I’m pretty sure that when his party didn’t win, he just took power anyway, and that isn’t really perfect democracy.

I checked quickly and apparently there are several thousand homeless people in Denmark. A lower rate than other countries, but not zero.

Yep, it probably will, if it gets too messy I’ll just leave, I really don’t feel like arguing too much today. And yes, it was dumb of me to then make this thread.

But I find your outlook interesting, you see, I can understand why most communists are communists, because homelessness is a real problem, but I personally feel like communism can just be a step or two too far.

Lenin and Stalin were both tyrants, and for the purposes of my political leanings I do not distinguish between them.
