I am. So I very much understand the temptation in saying "fast food establishments are the primary cause of unhealthy weight gain!" but they aren't. Several studies demonstrate that it's not the overall abundance of unhealthy foods that is causing unhealthy weight gain in America but the shift in culture which has made us exercise less and eat more throughout the day. Yes, fast food is garbage. But it isn't one of the main actors that lead to weight gain and weight-related issues. So why suggest participation in the fast food industry is a net negative, especially when considering the good it can do to society?
Conveniently ignoring:
Extra pollution by wrappers, cups, straws, sauce cups and boxes.
Happy meal! Eat crap, receive a collectable trashy toy... Children don't want to EAT at fast food restaurants, they want to play there. Thus screaming for "mac do" because there they get a new toy, and there is a playground.
All the high fructose corn syrup additives to food.
Sugar is addictive. We don't just eat more, exercise less. We eat a load more additives and sugars. Normal, old fashioned fruit and vegetables contained less sugar than nowadays. Because we are being fed more sugar, we want our fruit and veggies be sweeter, thus we have sweet carrots, with higher fructose content than old fashioned carrots. Monkeys cannot eat our fruit (banana, apples, plums etc) because it causes diabetes in them. Too sugary.
The bread from Subway isn't allowed to be NAMED bread in UK, because too much sugar.

150 million pounds of beef per year. It takes 441 gallons to produce 1 pound of boneless beef.
Thus: 66.150.000.000 gallons of water per year. Or 250.047.000.000 litres.
Not even counting the 300 million pound of chicken and 15 million pound of fish. Or the salads, the cleaning of the buildings etc etc.
And don't forget, if you don't live nearby Your work, you'll have to commute. Costing you money.
33% more wage which you need to spend at the hairdresser, your laundry of you work clothes and extra shampoo to wash out the grease from your hair. You'll need to buy waterproof, slip resistant sturdy shoes to be allowed to work there. Do you think the fast food restaurant will buy them for you? Nope.
And the night shifts.

Yes I rather clean and not attribute to above mentioned fun facts about fast food restaurants.
