I have said nothing abusive. I have nothing but compassion for these people. They need mental help. I'm all for more funding to help them live in and deal with reality. Money for anti-hallucination medication and to be institutionalized if necessary to keep them from hurting themselves.

You're severely misunderstanding why trans people kill themselves. Most of the time it's because they feel trapped. Like people will hate them, or not wanna be around them, or will distance themselves from them. Even if it was a mental illness, it's not accepted, and that's what's leading people to kill themselves.
Of course, it's certainly not a mental illness, and is backed up by science. They aren't delusional or hallucinagenic, they just feel a cetain way. Why is that bad? Why can't they identify as something else? Is it hurting you? Again, they aren't killing themselves at such high rates because they are trans, being trans doesn't make people wanna kill themselves, they are killing themselves because people hate them for it.

Alabama already tried banning HRT for some trans adults by setting their HRT ban limit to under 19s. Its only a matter of time before "until 21" hits the overton window. Swiftly followed by "until 26, because the human brain is still developing until 25".

I won't speak for ABH, but I'll tell you why I can't accept that: I live in a deeply red state. I was born (and partially-raised) in another deeply red state. Neither of them are particularly unusual among red states. I've seen and interacted with plenty of people in both states who make no bones about being red voters. I used to be a republican. I say all of this to establish one fact: I know the mindset of most republicans, on an instinctual level. And bigotry is inherent to modern republicanism. Has been all of my life (nearly 30 years). Show me a republican who is genuinely not a bigot, and I'll show you a democrat in denial.

To add my own experience, while I never was a republican, I do live in SC, a very red state. While many Republicans are bigots, there are certainly many on the local level who aren't. I can't say if it's a majority or not, but they certainly do exist. Unfortunately, the bigoted ones are much louder and thus seem to be much bigger than they likely are.

The idea that Republicans wouldn't do something that would outrage most Americans in order to please their most vitriolic base is naïve.

I've had my fill of hoping that Republicans won't pass terrible, regressive legislation. But they continue to do so, and continue to support politicians who do so.
