But in all honesty, it depends on the context. Swearing hatefully I would say is less than great, but you can express hate without swearing, so is it the swearing itself that is wrong, or the hate? But the words themselves, they're 100% alright. It's cathartic to swear, and there's nothing actually worse about swearing versus our regular language.

And to answer the OP, there's nothing wrong with swearing, especially used as an intensifier in conversation or in academic discussion.

Also, letting out a loud and proud "fuck" (pretend swearing doesn't work) is effective at reducing pain, so it can kind of rock when you're suffering.

On the other hand, swearing is basically encouraged if I'm hanging out and bonding with my close friends. Funnily enough, my family also allows swearing at home, as long as it's in English.
