Since "I'd use my superpowers to take the other $2900" is mysteriously missing even though it'd be my actual response, I'd have to go with "I missed the part where that's my problem" - at first.

Once the robber was out of sight of any cameras or people with phones, I would, of course, take the money off of him and keep it for myself. I wouldn't be worried about a gun because I'd jump the guy by surprise and knock him out before he could even draw.

Look, I mostly agree. I'd like to give the fight boss a chance to make good with me, after I give him all "his" money back. But I don't need the money as much as some other fighters he might have ripped off in the past. So I will leave that all to the police ... except the money owed to the fighter I personally beat, who I don't expect to get fair treatment by police.

Perhaps give the fight boss all the money and see if he spontaneously offers me $2900 reward. Then take all the rest back off him and I'm off to the police with the robber under one arm ...

You have super-powers. You can choose between petty crime (as above), or stealing as much as you like from people you think don't deserve the money. Hell, you could go gold mining and get rich without breaking laws at all.

Also, be aware of your own strength. "Flooring" someone even with ordinary human powers, does sometimes kill them.

You have superpowers?

Yet you focus on petty theft?

Looks like you have a different problem: with superpowers come super-responsabilities, such as controling yourself and finding out how this happened and how likely it is to lead to genetic permutations in the wider population...

Ben Parker is a character in Marvel's Spider-Man, the uncle of the titular Spider-Man, Peter Parker. In most versions of the character's origin story, Peter fails to save his uncle's life from a criminal, which catalyses him into becoming a superhero. It was Uncle Ben who spoke the now widely famous line "With great power there must also come great responsibility".

Spider-Man

I would put the link to the exact clip in the movie where this scene plays (it's online) but I'm worried about the PG-13. I mean, there's a moment where the robber smacks the manager on the back of his head with a gun and I'm worried it will cross the line...

Sam Raimi's Spider-Man was rated PG-13.

There's no Uncle Ben in this hypothetical so there's no "with great power comes great responsibility" speech and therefore I become a supervillain because of this situation.

Spiderman character, uncle of Peter Parker (Spiderman), his death - following the hypothetical in the OP of this thread - is often the origin story of Peter using his powers to become a crime fighter, as shown in this scene from the 2002 movie or this scene from the 2012 movie, with a different series of events leading to Uncle Ben's death.

If Peter had stopped the robber at the elevator then he couldn't have shot and killed Uncle Ben that night. I still think IM's hypothetical falls flat without the Uncle Ben element.

If stopping the robber to take the money counts, then that. It's was owed to me and not paid, this is just a roundabout way of getting it. Manager probably wouldn't take it to court anyway given how shady a lot of those small pro wrestling shows are and then he has the breach of contract issue.
Otherwise, just letting robber go. He hasn't done anything to me, manager did. And if I have to literally stop a robbery for the guy to feel like he should offer me the other $2900 then that's BS and he deserves to get robbed.

That's a bit of an oversimplification of human nature isn't it?

I highly doubt your going to go super villain just because nobody told you that when you have power over others you have a responsibility to use that for good. Their are a multitude of media fed to children and the like that try to stress such morale's, your names not Peter Parker is it?

Even though I wouldn't act on behalf of this random asshole who screwed me over to stop a thief that doesn't suddenly mean I lack empathy enough to suddenly start robbing people just because I have some superpowers.

It's a real big step from gaming a system to being a supervillain.

Well, if you see the manager as having robbed you, then they are both robbers, so why help 1 robber keep their effectively stolen goods from another? Ultimately it then comes down to which one you see as the worse evil among the two, which would require a lot more info...more than what I would have. Thus, I cannot really make a good and fair judgement, so I would let them fight it out for themselves.

So, "I Missed The Part Where That's My Problem?" but I probably wouldn't get sassy about it and say that.
If I am replying to something you said, please know that I tried my best to understand what you were trying to say. I apologize if I misunderstood, please forgive me and correct my interpretation while maintaining civility and manners expected of a decent person.
