China seems to have a similar social system to the Soviet Union in which people connected to the communist party have all the political and economic power. The Chinese "Communist" party is just a bunch of aristocrats.

Almost entirely wrong. They are committing massive genocide, human rights abuses and suppressing free speech, and are honestly not even close to being communist or even socialist. The party has abandoned socialism completely, in favour of state capitalism, and they are extremely socially oppressive too. Oh, and they have a weird cult of personality around past and present leaders. All in all, they are a bad party that I have little in common with.
