Before the Revolution, if you saw someone wearing the hijab, it meant something. You gave them extra respect because it meant they were actively choosing to wear it to show their devotion. But now that everyone has to wear it, it’s meaningless. Imagine if everyone in America had to wear a cross of a Star of David.

Ottoman sultans had bisexual relationships. The Islamic world is really being hypocritical as it always does on this subject.Insaanistan wrote:Suriyanakhon wrote:

While it’s speculated a lot of Ottoman rulers were bi, a lot of them were just rumors started by the Greeks (for, ya know, fairly obvious reasons), and in most of the Islamic world, gay poems were meant to just be funny rather than taken as actual indicators of homosexuality.

So all the gay sex they were having must have been just for laughs eh. Not just the Ottomans either, the Safavids and Mughals were known for their romping with the boys.

Conserative Morality wrote:"It's not time yet" is a tactic used by reactionaries in every era. "It's not time for democracy, it's not time for capitalism, it's not time for emancipation." Of course it's not time. It's never time, not on its own. You make it time. If you're under fire in the no-man's land of WW1, you start digging a foxhole even if the ideal time would be when you *aren't* being bombarded, because once you wait for it to be 'time', other situations will need your attention, assuming you survive that long. If the fields aren't furrowed, plow them. If the iron is not hot, make it so. If society is not ready, change it.

Let's talk about porn movies shot in Paris by the royals of Saudi Arabia, then. Don't you think it's hypocritical ?Insaanistan wrote:Hakinda Herseyi Duymak istiyorum wrote:Ottoman sultans had bisexual relationships. The Islamic world is really being hypocritical as it always does on this subject.
Like I said, some of them did, others were just propaganda against them.
And please stop saying “The Islamic world is really being hypocritical.” Did Egypt decide to have this ruling, too? Or Tunisia? Or Nigeria? Or Kazakhstan? Or Afghanistan?

Okay, maybe I’m not making myself clear:
Some of the sultans did in fact have homosexual sex. Meanwhile... others did not.
Additionally, I said gay poems. I’m pretty sure there’s even a Wikipedia that talks about that a bit.

Watching or creating porn is not a bad act. The people that I am angry with do not have any sexuality, they are constantly censoring, but they are experiencing a sexual revolution in them.
