The Problem With “Moderates”

Most people want to deal with wealth inequality by reducing it, not eliminating it. People are generally okay with a stable and healthy level of wealth differences. When it comes to climate change it's hard because much of our standard of living is driven by the amount of energy we're using and people are generally averse to reducing their standard of living for understandable reasons.

And that is a huge problem because band aid solutions will not and should not work

And we know that a great way to acquire capital is to have a lot of it already, and that capital tends to remain within wealthy families and get passed down generationally.

So it's not an inherent quality of capitalism, but it's obvious that capitalism would have this effect in practice.
