Inventions
It is the thing that pushes us further
It is the blast furnace of society
Without Inventions, we would still be cavemen bashing rocks
But every so often, there are some bad inventions
This is the thread, to talk about these bad inventions, a place to talk, bring up, or laugh at the mistakes that humanity have created, from a bad kickstarter campaign to a random infomercial, Let's talk about it on...

Unless it just doesn’t works most inventions have an at least non-harmful purpose they can perform. I really don’t think there exist any morally bad inventions, just morally bad applications.

Gas rooms? These were invented by humans and do not seem to have any purpose other than mass murder. What else do you want to use them for? I mean, Zyklon B does have some legitimate purpose (pesticide) though but gas rooms don’t.

Ah. Torture devices are also bad inventions. They generally (maybe even always) do not have any legitimate purposes.

Firstly, I think you should really beef up the OP with your opinion on what do you think is the worst inventions.

Secondly, I think the worst invention is the revolver mousetrap, among other inventions listed in this Sam O'Nella video. Revolver mousetraps are simply overkill, to be frank, and serve no purpose that can't be done by a regular mousetrap, or a cat.

For those who don't know what the product in the picture is, it was a $400 overengineered bag squeezer that you have to control with an app. It couldn't do anything but crush their bags of pre-processed ingredients into a small cup of juice, and people thought it was a good idea to fund it.

Oh, and people could crush the bags with their hands.

Motor-cars with one wheel at the front. Eg. Reliant Regal or Mazda K360.

There were practical cars with one wheel at the back. Tipping over still a problem, but rolling not so much.

Generally torture devices and weaponised diseases strike me as a bad idea/invention.

Screw the guy who realised you could put palm oil in everything/
