I practice small scale agriculture at home and am probably going to expand this year so naturally I have a favorable opinion.

According to Park Hyeja, it is important to expand emphasis on both agriculture and industry simultaneously. Only then can a nation become self-reliant and self-strengthened.

Agriculture is still needed but lets face it, fewer people know how to farm anymore or can even be bothered with it if they live in a well off country with an advanced society/economy. Most farms are owned by giant corporations and are mechanized to the most extent possible and are very efficiently run for mass production out of necessity.

There is way more product demanded than any one person can produce for other people. The chemicals/preservatives and etc. are mainly to ensure food doesn't rot/spoil as fast or can otherwise sell better. It sucks, but people are incentivized to do whatever it takes to get the results they want. Even if some consequences might be negative sometimes.

Of course agriculture is necessary. It's been one of the cornerstones of society for the past ten millenia.

I like farms, particularly fruit farms, nothing like taking fresh fruit off a tree or bush

We have a couple trees and bushes that produce and it's great to just go grab an apple or something.

You're getting dangerously close to the point.

It seems my sarcasm detector was switched off, my bad.
But yes, farming is important. Every young person should have some farming experience, which is why they should be sent to the fields to practice weeding, plowing, hoeing, harvesting, and planting.

My (very late) grandparents had a tobacco farm in Missouri. Whenever I'm in KC, I usually make the hour drive up to the old family tobacco farm, and it's beautiful. Needless to say, I love farms, and when I have some more money, I'd love to buy some land in the Midwest to have a small-scale farm.
