I mean.. we probably insulted him when he was living as well, it's just he kind of faded as a force so he wasn't relevant, his death makes him somewhat relevant again and so there's no reason not to remember what an awful human being he was. ..he left a legacy that is part of why Trump came to power, the use of toxic partisanship and laughing at the poor, needy or disadvantaged to the point of gloating over their deaths.
