monetizing anything dumbs it down.

nothing about love in any sense of it is as dumb as equating thoughtlessness with freedom.

telling people to have expectations is dumb sure, and expectation of affection is fantacy and a needless source of frustration.

i'm just glad we don't have a holiday that celibrates hate.

The commercialization of it has cheapened love and the concept of giving a gift to someone whom you have feelings.

A lot of the commercialization surrounding it has also amplified the pre-existing idea of the relationship being one-way with one person giving and another person receiving instead of it being reciprocal, although that's a larger issue which transcends the holiday itself.

well i think this thread has run its course. Valentines is indeed dumb but only because of how superficial it is.
So the CCP won't let me be or let me be me so let me see, they tried to shut me down on CBC but it feels so empty without me.
