Even that's probably not true. There's a bunch of issues like social security and military spending, that the parties hardly ever argue about because they both agree.

Also what's in the news right now: Covid relief. Republicans were all for it last year, does them backflipping mean that you have too? Are checks from the government only a good idea if they have President Trump's signature on them?

I have seen a few posts and links, of Democrats or pro Democrats not happy the 8 Democrats disagreed with their base. I can probably find a link of angry Democrats to post it. McConnell got at least 1, even 2 and arguably all 3 of the Supreme Court Justices which Trump is so ready to claim credit for. Nominating a Justice is donkey work: internet pundits had Barrett as the favorite before Trump even said anything. He may well have made the choice while watching Fox and Friends.

Actually bringing the nominee to the vote (or NOT) is skilled political work. It was McConnell, not Trump, who got Republicans three justices in just 4 years.

Saying that McConnell was a traitor to the party because he was less than decisive in impeaching Trump, or because he didn't support Trump's outrageous call for the Congress to dishonor electors from however many states would be necessary (5 or 6) to produce a fake win for Trump, is gross disloyalty to the Republican party.

GMS, it is plain dishonest to say you "strongly support" the Republican party, if you also "strongly support" Donald Trump. Calling the man who delivered the only lasting achievement of Trump's term (the 3 Justices) a "traitor" is just rank hypocrisy, and denial that even Mitch McConnell is a more honorable politician than One Time President Donald J. I am not angry. The $15 amendment had been tried before, but was voluntarily withdrawn when Manchin said he wouldn't vote for it, then the Parliamentarian decreed that it would violate the Byrd Rule.

Putting it back was a dumb move by Sanders. The only way that would work is to pass a bill violating the Senate rules (mega dumb) or by sacking the Parliamentarian and gambling on getting a better ruling by her replacement (as Republicans did in 2017, and absolutely not a precedent to be honored).

I'm nearly as Left as Sanders himself, and even so I think I would have voted against that amendment. It was brainless bully posturing, and it speaks badly of Democratic Senators that so many voted FOR it. Really the best way to send Bernie a message would be to sit in silence ... ie abstain.
