Do they have any data or facts the demos are trying to cheat? Simply saying “it’s my opinion” is just being ignorant. Nope. Your view is what normally happens. Vultures move in and try to gouge people. Most will end up with books that won’t be worth much. Two of the books are known and the others are more obscure. Most likely the “I’m offended crowd” has been complaining to the estate and they decided to respond. It would be one thing if the characters mentioned would out of line with the rest of the drawings or the central characters of a story (ie sambo).

You're making these points and in each case leaving out the most important details of FDR's record-- you know what the difference between him and Stalin is, in this case? Stalin killed millions of the Soviet civilians he interned; FDR did not (even though it was still wrong and people did die because of the terrible conditions). You really don't think that's a worthwhile distinction to draw, or that it's reasonable for that fact to differentiate our historical interpretations of their records?

And? That does not excuse that FDR committed arguably the biggest human rights violation in US history, in direct violation of the Constitution. His achievements don't negate that he put his own people in concentration camps, auctioned off their property, and deported tens of thousands of them for dubious reasons.

Can't say I agree with that tbqh. There's a lot of places (parts of California, New York etc) where 80k a year genuinely isn't a ton of money. I'm pretty sure that's less than the average income in a place like San Francisco so are we just cutting them off from aid entirely?

No it’s not. Average rent in SF is about 3K and that includes not so safe areas. My old flat in the bay area was about 1800 (about 17 years ago). Now it goes for 3600. It has not been changed that much. It is still a fire death trap (requires an explanation not worthy of this thread).

Income levels have not advanced that much.

This is another case of where they look at the income levels and view it on average across the country. Sure I used to make 6 figures; the cost of living was well in line with that. I was not living the lifestyles of the rich and famous.

High and low living costs have a huge partisan split. Indexing the payments just by regional rent would favor owner-occupiers, but also city and suburban over small city and rural people. And it would favor blue states (CA and NY) over red states. Doing it without the deliberation and review of Congress would be simply a disaster.

They simply should not means test it or phase it out because that misses the point of "stimulus" and instead confuses it for relief.
