If you have enough power you are absolutely beyond the courts.

I don't see why poor people shouldn't rally together and give themselves enough power to do what rich people have been doing since forever.

Where does one even get a giant golden Trump statue?

"It was golden, purple, violet, gray and blue. It lighted every peak, crevasse and ridge of the nearby mountain range with a clarity and beauty that cannot be described but must be seen to be imagined. It was that beauty that the great poets dream about but describe most poorly and inadequately..."

It would be better than having a violent revolution or having to freeze to death or get covid.

Dude you’re going to have a revolution on your hands if you attempt that. The best course of action is telling the landlords to stuff it and get the government to pay them back lost revenue

The revolution won't be violent if the owning class doesn't resist. If they do, it's on them.

The problem isn’t the landlords; it’s the lenders. Maybe it’s time for pandemic “laws”. Basically; debt collection is on hold. You can charge a nominal fee/fine and thats it. Banks are running likes it’s business as usual and everybody else isn’t.

A very dear friend of mine is very upset over the proposed minimum wage increase.

She has previously negotiated a pay cut with her boss to remain under the cut off point for state aid and the proposed increase will take her above it and force her to pay for her own health insurance (Which she absolutely, desperately needs, but would be laughably expensive for her to cover on her own), resulting in her having to quit her job.

This is something that should really have been addressed simultaneously through welfare reforms akin to the ones discussed in the UK Cameron government (though ideally not implemented as poorly). (I.E, "Work should always pay" and tapering off state aid incrementally).

She supports the increase in principle but her life is basically going to get ridiculously more difficult as a result of it and It strikes me that she's probably not alone. There are probably people for whom the wage increase is absolutely not worth being pushed above the state aid cutoff point.

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

Absolutely. It's an example of how left wing reforms need to be systemic in order to be sensible.

You either need right wing cameronite welfare reform to prevent this shit, or universal healthcare. Otherwise the minimum wage rise is going to fuck over thousands of people.
