First of all, you'd have to change the Constitution.

Second, it doesn't solve the problem we're talking about. The question is "How does removing birthright citizenship solve the problems of illegal immigration", and the answer isn't "You can technically remove birthright citizenship".

Again, that would require amending the constitution since Jus Soli is the widely-accepted rule in the 14th Amendment.

That is indeed a thing you can do, but it doesn't solve the problem of illegal immigration as it does nothing to adress the reasons for why parents are sending their children unaccompanied to the US in the first place.

But I think Gravlen is right you still have to amend the US constitution, which is why I suggested the political deal if I could as President or world leader of any nation. Let the current kids of illegals stay. End birth right citizenship for future kids of illegals.

Its not a deal that would ever get made and if you somehow got it through Congress the required number of states would never approve it.. How about proposing something realistic?

Yes, I would give citizenship to the current kids of illegals born in the USA. Biden's executive orders on illegal immigration is designed to make illegal immigration legal immigration, this is why many Republicans strongly oppose it.

I'm talking about people coming into the U.S. illegally, with the sole purpose of having their child there in order to gain citizenship for them. I have family members who've done this. People born to legal immigrants should absolutely be citizens, and under Jus sanguinis they would be.
