Gun control is far from a priority right now. Plus I don't see any of it passing with a 50-50 Senate and an 8-strong House majority when you have people like Manchin and Sinema.

Biden has spoken a lot about the topic and just a couple days ago put out a call for Congress to take action on the topic because he doesn't want to wait. While I don't think anything will pass the Senate I could see Biden trying to push something through or doing an EO and uniting the GOP over it.

Nothing can unify the GOP against the force of Trump's pettiness.

My prediction is that the Democrats under Biden are going to go for Canadian style Gun Control and on that basis alone, the GOP is going to win again with a vengeance in 2022.

It's actually not unconstitutional, or at least I'm not sure if it has ever been challenged. HW Bush added a great many firearms to the import ban list in the 90's and then Clinton and Obama followed up with more additions in their presidencies. I would agree it would look bad but this is the Dems version of abortion, common sense goes out the window for purity points so much like Proct I wouldn't be shocked if the Dems sabotage themselves with it.

The problem is the GOP spitting between now and then. Which tbh is highly likely given that several state reps are leaving the party

I once posted in different and similar words, perhaps the so called centrist Democrats would join the GOP centrists in whatever party they call it. So we would have the centrists, Patriots and the Democrats.

Good logical sounding point, but many districts are gerrymandered with Republican and Democrat majorities. Either way those GOP and Patriot elected representatives are still going to have to negotiate to pass or block certain issues, even the Democrats.

You know just because Trump escaped impeachment twice, he's still not out of the woods. He still has serval lawsuits and possible criminal charges (with taxes and sexual assault) that could land him in jail. Expect Trump stocks to dramatically decrease even more when the trials start for Trump.
