Progressives disagree with these rulings.

I think they are terrible rulings to but that doesnt mean every in office is in the pocket of corporations and lobbyists. The term lobbyist is also used as a blanket term. I bet their are groups or interests people here support and I guarantee they have lobbyists.

I support getting money out of politics, that certainly doesn't have lobbyists.

This is exactly why we need a proper multiparty system

What a sad pathetic cop out, voting out corrupt politicians for new corrupt politicians changes nothing.

You said everyone. I guess anyone whose served more than one term is establishment and bought by the rich including every Governor, state legislator and municipal official. I wonder how anything gets passed if they have such influence.

Cops don’t like criminal justice reform yet congress passed a reform bill and Trump signed it. Several states have passed them too and gone further.

Money, power, crony capitalism, all the things you say you hate yet you continue to shield.

Only because people decided to take action themselves, yet said reform doe not go far enough.

It’s truly amazing how little you and others understand how things work.

What action did they take and the reform they passed is what they could get through. Would you rather nothing had been passed at all because it wasn’t ideal?

How am I doing that? If anything is to get done compromise is essential. I sometimes wonder if some people were to get elected mayor or governor for example they’d insist everything get done exactly as they want it and not budge one bit. Not a whole lot would get done.

Compromise doesn't get us anywhere, real action needs to be taken against a corrupt government and system that only benefits the rich and powerful, yet you continue to defend them.

Give me your solution and what you’d do if you were governor for example.

Congress can only pass 3 recon bills per year, and the Byrd rule restricts them down to addressing the budget spending only. After this package any other non-budgetary reform will need 10 Repub votes.

Dallas Heard a far-right senator who supported protesters who stormed the Oregon Capitol has been elected chairman of the state Republican Party, showing how the GOP is taking a harder-line shift in some states and continuing to support former President Donald Trump.

He also said the election was stolen. Good luck to Republicans winning in the state in the future with this guy at the helm.

I hate to say it but their odds are better, they might even push the Democrats further to the right as time goes on.

How do you come to that conclusion? If they can't make inroads on the coast and the Willamette valley they have no hope of winning the state legislature or statewide office.
