I think that means something now. The Saudi’s may actually fear us or are now weary of us again.

The House of Saūd’s dominance over much of Arabia since the nation’s start was literally fanatic entitlement.

You can blame the British and to a certain extent the French for that. They helped them and now we have countries like Syria Lebanon and Iraq who only exist because of where The British and French claimed land. They turned a blind eye to what happened on the peninsula and the discovery of oil only made matters worse. Their practice of Wahhabism has created a powerful enemy in the region. Which is why things are the way they are there to a certain extent of course.

The people you see in Israel now are not the original Jews who once inhabited Palestine. That is why the rate of skin cancer in Israel is the second highest in the world (after Australia for similar reasons). The people you see now who go around claiming to be Jews are just about as insane as 15th century Greeks claiming to be ancient Romans. Therefore the true Levantines are now Christian and Muslim Palestinians and a small fraction of Jews who remained in the Holy Land.

"Byzantine Empire" is a term created after the end of the realm; its citizens continued to refer to their empire simply as the Roman Empire (Medieval Greek: Βασιλεία Ῥωμαίων, romanized: Basileía Rhōmaíōn) or Romania (Medieval Greek: Ῥωμανία), and to themselves as Romans (Medieval Greek: Ῥωμαῖοι, romanized: Rhōmaîoi) - a term which Greeks continued to use for themselves into Ottoman times. Although the Roman state continued and its traditions were maintained, modern historians distinguish Byzantium from the previous Roman empire as it was centred on Constantinople, oriented towards Greek rather than Latin culture, and characterised by Eastern Orthodox Christianity.
