Wow you must hate swimming pools and beaches huh?

Pools as a concept don't bother me because I can see the bottom and I could get out of the water easily enough if some deep-sea eldritch horror came for me but all those people without shoes on is wrong.

Beaches I'm okay with because I live in Britain which means no-one is on the beach in bare feet, and the water doesn't bother me unless I'm actually in it.

Being crucified.

It's a fear with a lot of layers because when I was younger I was directly afraid of the torture itself: having my skin pierced, being nailed to wood, and profusely bleeding. That would scare anybody. What crucifixion represents in its most blunt form is being left to suffer by the people who should love you the most. It's harsh.

human feet? That is a real fear, fear of human feet? Wow that's insane. I do wonder if your afraid of feet why is that? Feet are actually pretty cool and adorable (ok that sounded weird I mean like little feet)

It's a real fear, podophobia. Human feet are wrong. We were perfectly okay with the monkey feet. The ones without the toenails that could grow into your skin or develop horrid fungal infections.

Evolution makes few mistakes but two of them were giving us the feet that we have and giving things more than six legs.

So not like an intense fear like "You see a human foot you will run away" more of a "unseltting, disgusting, disturbing, and just wrong and you would prefer not to look at it" type of thing right? I can see that

Yeah pretty much, more akin to Trypophobia. For god's sake just put some socks on there is no need to make me look at your freaky little toes.

I'm terrified of jellyfish. Doesn't matter how bad the sting is or if they even sting. Just the thought of a gelatinous creature with no discernable parts relatable to most terrestrial life, shudders. Maybe seeing The Blob at a way too early age has something to do with it...

I have an irrational fear of dogs and I've never been able to figure out why. Maybe a bad experience when I was younger or something. I mean, they're cute and all, but come across as really unpredictable.

that's actually pretty logical and rational. I mean technically you could say any fear is rotational in a sense (but that's a stretch)

There’s a lot of strays in India so children here are taught to just avoid them in general, which is why having dogs as pets isn’t really a normal thing here

That might actually be a good explanation for this. Yeah, same back in my country (Burma) as well. A lot of stray dogs, a lot of them fought each other.

I don't think it's an irrational fear, it seems very rational to me, but I'm terrified of snakes.

Snakes are very dangerous, at least here in Western India. When I was growing up I was always told to immediately get a knife and kill it if a snake comes by because thousands of people die from snakebites here every year

Do irrational dislikes count too? I'm ok to mention that I just find buttons unsettling. Not scary or anything, but like... ew...

I mean like buttons on shirts, not the big red kind which launch nukes.

Oddly enough this dislike has nothing to do with Coraline, which seems to come up in everything I've ever read about dislike of buttons.

I consider my avoidance of large spiders and unfriendly dogs rational.

I don't really have any that are irrational. I fear the ocean because it can kill me, I fear heights because they can kill me, I don't like the dark because anything could be in there and it could kill me.

I have a irrational fear about severely irrational people. Like the kind of people who just straight up denies the evidence in front of them, or someone who claims one thing that is absolutely wrong, like humans are ants. If you try and show them your thought process of empiricism to deduce and discriminate between two different things they still say it's wrong. Like to show them a human, list characteristics of a human and then compare it to a ant along with a example they would literally say they are the same thing.
I can't imagine what sort of logic that those people have to resort to such conclusions and anybody who do have those conclusions must be clinically delusional and I should avoid them.
Take that and apply that to just about any topic, of what is painfully clear from sound reason and empirical evidence is somehow a grey area or a "spectrum" for some people and that discriminating between objects is not possible.
I also have a irrational fear of definitions of things being eroded to no longer mean anything and thus make language as a whole unintelligible and communication useless. Not even caveman grunts could alert anyone of a nearby predator or danger anymore because one can't discriminate against anything.
January 8th, 2021 - I vow not to respond to anyone OOCIC/OOC I'm 100% serious
Do not ask me my opinion of LGBT. the mods don't approve.
Yes, I'm Homophobic, Transphobic etc. not stop incessantly responding to me and then have the audacity to claim I am the one "trolling". If I don't respond to you most likely I'm on your foe list. If one is hypersensitive I recommend putting me on your foe list
