The problem is that they’ll just get propped up by China/take on massive amounts of debt to keep it going.

That can only carry on for so long before something breaks. And it's not just the wages either, if the rank and file find it impossible to live normally, even when getting their pay, then that increases the likelihood of mutiny.

Honestly, I really don't like either sides of the movement. On the one hand, you obviously have an oppressive military government that I absolutely hate, and then on the other hand, there is the NLD which I also dislike, and Suu Kyi, someone I really, really dislike. She did commit genocide after all, and is honestly not as democratic as people are hoping for. However, I slightly side with the NLD because under them, there is actually room for criticism of their policies and free speech.

Also, guerilla war is definitely not the answer because a war would quite frankly open up the divide in the country, and a massive, massive civil war would break out between multiple factions. Oh, and let's not forget that Myanmar has a beautiful rainforest that would get destroyed in this war. Honestly, there isn't a really good way out of this. I guess we just need to hope that it eventually blows over.

True, Myanmar is quite diverse.
Even a bit diverse religiously (my dad got the surprise of his life seeing Burmese non-Rohingya people holding a funeral for dead protesters that was an ISLAMIC JANAZAH. )

It's no longer safe to simply protest, and the military divisions involved in this are several degrees of fucked up with awful history behind them.

I think the way forward against this barbarism is with strikes, sit-ins, and civil disobedience to make the country totally ungovernable and economically paralysed.

Albert was very lucky to have survived in Nazi Germany. In 1931, while Albert was a guest professor in California, Adolf Hitler declared Albert a spy. Hitler put out a death warrant for Albert. In 1933, while Albert and Elsa were returning home from their trip to California, Nazis broke into the Einsteins’ summer house in Caputh, Germany. A bread knife was found in the kitchen—a perfectly natural place for a bread knife to be. But the Nazis used the knife as “proof” of what a dangerous man Albert was. The Nazis seized everything Albert owned—his home and his money.

So there is this thing that was being talked about and which some of us *think* that it might work. Do take it with a large pinch of salt and actually might not want to quote me on this too much.

See, the cronies, or just the sons and daughters of the big-fucks (high ranking military officers) are schooling in US or some other European countries, and if the international condemnation became too strong to blacklist their children from attending some of the prestigious schools overseas, that just might work (or at least soften the coup to a small degree) because what other way to stop them from committing crazy acts against their people... by hitting at the only places that matter as much to them.

Again, do think of this what you will, and I unfortunately doesn't have a source on how true this is. But knowing my country, we do have the "blood money rich" types and they certainly have children studying overseas.
