Burma is a country of 53 million, and a supermajority voted for the NLD in the 2020 election. I suspect that 40 million civilians who love the Tatmadaw is a lie.

Oh yeah, MWD and MRTV do be getting a lot of flack for this, so there is that.

With half a million military personnel 4 million would cover all the soldiers, officers, and their families to be sure. Doubt those who just staged a coup want to admit that the only people who support destroying Burma are the military.

Yeah, looking at the abundance of those videos, I just feel for everyone getting involved. Even the police who had to control some areas have that face in particular. Not the ones that shoot or went violent and postal; just those with a riot shield that had to be there while some of their hearts are going "Fuck dude, I am on a bind here."

19 y/o Ma Mya Thwe Thwe Khine was knocked unconscious by a live round and was on life support (she couldn't breathe manually), with brain-death being decided and announced by the doctors at 12th of Feb.

Basically, on 9th of Feb, she and her friends (or fellow elder sisters, အမ could mean that, or women-friends) were aware of the protests happening and was preparing to leave from said protest because the police was getting too violent with breaking it up. She wasn't even in the crowd that the police was firing at, so more or less, she was hit by a stray round.

Yeah, they shot the rescue teams and personnel for the gall of helping out the injured. They were shooting those who were down.

Intentional shots not just at protestors, but towards those who were rescuing and helping each other out. Yes, including the ambulances (that by default, can't even shoot back).

In other news, it says and translates out that supermarkets, virtual classes for private schools, GrabFood, KFC, and many, many more are closing on 22nd February in protest of the coup. Expect resumption of services on 23rd of February. 22nd of Feb in Burma is about... around 21st Feb - 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM for those in America.

EDIT: I learned a new thing about my own country, after all. So err... This is not exactly because of protest happening (won't make sense anyway, since it will screw over the civilians more). To be completely honest, there's a vague reason as to why, but it's not exactly because of the coup; just some important date with some... Legislation, or some decision. I sadly don't know why, sorry.

Anything to make the life of police and military hell as long as they are not shooting at us. We have cars traveling at 15-20 km/h in the busy Yangon roads, people deliberately walking around and using the zebra crossing multiple times, going to work super late, that kind of stuff. There are now also calls for people and communities to not frequently protest - not to support the military and quietly let the coup happen - BUT to start being a security and guard of your own home especially if you have your loved ones with you. In other words, we are now trying to protect ourselves because the police and the military have unfortunately failed us.

And as far as I am concerned, I have a bad feeling that we are lapsing back to 1988, because of impromptu curfews and staying in your house if you are vulnerable, lest you get smacked or stuck in the middle of a possibility of a protest turning into a full-scale riot.
