I think you know that I dislike traditionalism even more than communism since at least communism is a newer and more explicit ideology which makes it more predictable and easier to remove.

I'm not sure what entirely you're reading into my comments, but they're simply explaining the objective history of politics in Myanmar, rather than trying to assert that one side has the moral mandate (which I believe that the democratic government does, for the record ー as someone who cares about the Burmese nation, I loathe the juntas for driving Myanmar's economy into the ground).

Came upon the following YT video on what happened to the royals of Burma. Highly recommend you watch it. Quite informative. It kind of explains why Burma is messed up. It seems the monarchy tended to hold the different groups of Burma together. When the British forcibly annexed Burma and got rid of the monarchy, a thousand year of experience in knowing how to rule Burma was tossed out the window. Burma never really recovered from this. They need to relearn there history. It should be mentioned that in the video they comment that the British gave Burma has a gift to there Queen Victoria.

In the foreseeable future, not really, actually. On top of COVID, I am like just trying to work here in Singapore, so there was that.

Burma seems to have gotten back their internet connection. It's a step in the right direction so far, whatever the intent might be, BUT I'm holding back my tongue.

On another note: Burma secures second IMF COVID-19 loan. I don't want to jump to conclusions, but... yeah, let's see. Worst come to worse, they (the military) will buy then try to sell the vaccine at some ridiculous price. It is still bad, but it's not "We used the vaccine money to buy more houses for ourselves" levels of bad. Though at least for COVID-19, the silver lining being that they are serious about it.

I might address this more in the COVID thread if I am a bit chatty and evaluative.
