It's more a matter of religious than ethnic bigotry, anyway -- as an overwhelmingly Buddhist country, the numerous antagonisms between the majority Bamar and virtually every other ethnicity worth noting within Myanmar today is partly due to the latter not professing strict Theravada Buddhism. Hell, before the military takeover of the '60s, the common Burman's propitiation of the nats (religion, folkway, superstition, mehhhh) was a sore point in national life.

The conditions for the vote itself (e.g. pressure on the media, network shutdowns) were not exactly free and fair, but I think that it is proven beyond reasonable doubt that the military did not win them in any way. At most, the NLD got a more disproportionate victory than it would otherwise have, but it would've won comfortably anyway.

Bangladesh is supporting the Rohingya refugees who are being persecuted in Myanmar. This is also an election strategy because Sheikh Hasina’s government has been losing popularity since the last elections (which were not democratic), and could actually lose government in the next election, letting these refugees in creates more AL voters since their government let them into the country and gave citizenship
