Hence I argue that we can allow those who are offended by places being named after GW to overload the namesake to be GWC instead. If people interpret the person who was honored to be GWC the problem of whether GW should be honored becomes irrelevant since it can be interpreted as not happening.

Another solution is of course not even have a namesake or change the namesake to be a cat / dog / etc. This can also resolve the issue.

Maybe. The problem here is that unlike Japan and UK America and China are not very legitimate places if we take any mainstream post-WWII ethics. As a result people can either argue that America itself is not legitimate and hence all non-Native Americans need to be kicked out (that’s in line with decolonization) or alternatively America is legitimate due to racial or cultural superiority of West Europeans compared to Native Americans (basically Cecil Rhodes’ argument.) If the latter is legitimate then Native American states and maybe even Native Americans themselves should not exist and that further demographic change in favor of Europeans is moral and necessary. So it is really massive, global-scale ethnic cleansing either way.

All other arguments tend to be amoral, might-makes-right type ones.

Renaming Chinatown or changing the namesake of Chinatown? Maybe in this case we actually need renaming since almost nobody would have considered Hitlerberg an acceptable place name, right? There should be no place on this planet named after Nazi Germany, Soviet Union or China. Hence Chinatowns have to be renamed. In order not to make the names hard for people to understand let’s use a similar name. Hence Charlestown. After all Charlestowns do exist.
