I hope the people at WSB are smart enough to start a charity with the short selling they've done. They need good PR or something quick.

Needs good PR after taking a hedge fund to the cleaners and spreading the money to the people?

Like what? Raise the dead? Bring about world peace? What would they need to do that’s better than that?

The money to the People? This is just a populist revolt by people who aren't quite rich to be in the so call 1%. I know you are smart enough to know that most people who own stock are in the top strata of society.

Many of the people investing in GME are hardly rich. A lot are really just regular people either trying to make some profit and/or fuck with Wall Street.

Your article says 55% of Americans own stock (down from 67, at time of writing - probably up now).

That’s more than actually vote.

You are aware a short position at 400 a share can payoff a lot more than a short position at 20 with much less upside risk.

True, this fight is: middle class vs upper class.
The people at the real bottom don't have the spendable money to play in the stock.

Yet, that doesn't change the point of Galloism.
It is money moving down. Those money into the hands of those middle class guys, has more chances to move around the real economy, than the chances those money would have to if they stayed into the finance fantasy land.

So again, the retailers need PR, for what?

Arguably after this there could be as many investors though.

Very likely. Tons of people I never even heard talking about investments have tossed a few hundred to gamble on this, and they’re laughing at the hilarity of it all - both winners and losers.

Notably, with the advent of and availability of fractional shares (there's problems with buying/selling fractional shares, but we'll leave that for another day), people can get into trading by not going out to eat one night and putting $10 into the market and own a piece of GM, or tesla, or... gamestop.
