The people who write articles like these are the reason we need to bring back "Okay Boomer." They're trying so hard to push the narrative that some young independent investors are the reckless gamblers, meanwhile this whole situation only happened because several hedge fund managers bet EVERYTHING they had on GME shorts and thought nobody would notice.

For myself and almost all other GME holders I've talked to, it's only a small percentage of our portfolios. If anything, the institutional investors are the ones gambling away their life's savings here. But it's way worse than that because when they make fuck-ups this big, their companies and all their clients go down with them. These people MUST have known how risky this strategy was, and that they should never risk more money than they can afford to lose. But they did it anyway, and they lost, and for some reason that's someone else's fault. Ridiculous.

Another reason I'll be glad for the end of this pandemic will be not having to weigh up if taking a stand is worth the risk to everyones' loved ones.

Exactly, this articles acting like most GME investors have all their money in that one stock. I’ve made sure to diversify and secure my portfolio so well at least five of the main stocks I invest in can tank before I have financial issues

As they should be.

There is a time for physical protests but that time is not now.

Let's keep hitting them where it really hurts, in the stock market.

Y'know... I honestly didn't think I would see anything this early into 2021 that would unite the right and the left in America.

But apparently no matter which side you're on for the most part people really like to see redditers destroying wall street.

Every story so far has ended with, "Kids, this is risky..." which I can't help but think, "I think they know man. They were exploiting someone else's opportunistic risk taking and now that the risk is real for them everyone's asshole clenched."

If you're an anticapitalist, then Wall Street is the epitome of capitalist greed and must be destroyed. If you're a pro-capitalist, then Wall Street is a cronyist distortion of the free market and must be destroyed.

Practically nobody likes these people coasting off their multimillions while people - citizens of high-income industrialised democracies to boot - are starving and homeless.

They know that if they let such transparent corruption slide there's going to be massive protests. It'll be 2008 all over again.

Really, people should be pissed regardless. Throughout this pandemic, we've seen Wall Street brokers rake in the big bucks while people struggle to pay rent, stay employed, or feed themselves. The Gamestop stock rally and, more importantly, the resulting scum-tastic corporate response, was just the lightning rod of all that resentment.

I'm just laughing, I have nothing else. This is all so silly, from the cause to the losses, and the silver-spoon freakouts. I love every second of this.
