The people who write articles like these are the reason we need to bring back "Okay Boomer." They're trying so hard to push the narrative that some young independent investors are the reckless gamblers, meanwhile this whole situation only happened because several hedge fund managers bet EVERYTHING they had on GME shorts and thought nobody would notice.
For myself and almost all other GME holders I've talked to, it's only a small percentage of our portfolios. If anything, the institutional investors are the ones gambling away their life's savings here. But it's way worse than that because when they make fuck-ups this big, their companies and all their clients go down with them. These people MUST have known how risky this strategy was, and that they should never risk more money than they can afford to lose. But they did it anyway, and they lost, and for some reason that's someone else's fault. Ridiculous.

But apparently no matter which side you're on for the most part people really like to see redditers destroying wall street.

If you're an anticapitalist, then Wall Street is the epitome of capitalist greed and must be destroyed. If you're a pro-capitalist, then Wall Street is a cronyist distortion of the free market and must be destroyed.
Practically nobody likes these people coasting off their multimillions while people - citizens of high-income industrialised democracies to boot - are starving and homeless.
