Maybe not forced, but necessary. Someone as unstable as Trump with the power of the President. Much like how it's in your best interest to pay attention to a gorilla in the room swinging around a loaded ak-47.

It was hard not to, nearly every day there was something that seeped into your consciousness - you'd pretty much have to turn off the news entirely since he dominated the top of the news all the time.

Also, if you're partaking in a political based forum it's less likely you'd be avoiding the news.
