Sure, in no way are these temporary measures to halt a pandemic that has killed more than 2M people worldwide. An American is dying every 30 seconds from this. Your callous approach to these deaths is quite remarkable.

He has stated it to be God's plan (or the Chinese) for people to die from this pandemic.

It's basically the defence I'm seeing, the argument over whether the people who stormed the Capitol were fascists or not, and the argument that Trump wasn't responsible because he didn't take part.

Strange, I thought this was the American politics thread, not the China thread, so don't see what relevance it has here, unless of course you are hilariously suggesting that it would happen in America; in which case, just...lol.

Yes, America can also quickly lose freedoms because many people don't value them enough. America had McCarthyism and the Red Scare in the 1950's. You forget about how 9/11 scared Americans into getting the Patriot Act and the domino theory caused American men to be drafted to fight and die in a nation halfway across the world that many Americans had probably never heard of just a few years before.

Reagan said that HIV/AIDS was God's punishment for allowing gays to exist openly in society. (So much so that he forced the CDC to ignore it)

And then it became a worldwide pandemic and health issue.

And yet this pointless fearmongering about everything being a stepping stone to communist authoritarianism that you insist upon doing is the exact same thing that gave rise to McCarthyism and the Second Red Scare back then. Either you don’t realize this and are ignorant of the history, or you do and just don’t care.

Comparing my prisons to Nazi concentration camps is ridiculous. Prisons with labor requirements and caning existed well before Hitler was even born. I even suggested they have recreation facilities (but no internet or TV) so they can play board games, read, and play volleyball and basketball in their spare time. Most prisoners are not monsters and should be treated fairly.

I think you saw this movie and think I want prisons to be this harsh which is not true:

You are applying a specific situation and neglecting the many reasons on how the Nazi's arose to power with a modern situation where the same principles and events have not occurred.

There is a constitution, FR, and the constitution explicitly forbids cruel and unusual punishment, of which corporal punishment is considered.

You cannot be shilling for freedom while also shilling for labor camps and state beatings.

Singapore is an authoritarian state, that limits the freedom of press, freedom of speech, requires permits for public gatherings of greater than 5, has a problem with sex trafficking, and more.

Your constant harping on caning has already fallen apart if you bothered to do more than a cursory glance of google.

Are you choosing to remain willfully ignorant or something?

Who created viruses that kill millions? Why does malaria, smallpox, typhoid, HIV, COVID-19, hepatitus, cholera, and diptheria exist? Who created these evils? If you believe in God, you probably believe he created them as a way to ensure humans don't have it too easy.

I believe God created most diseases. He could also stop starvation and droughts and floods which kill many but chooses not to help.

Why is it weird to blame God for the virus deaths if he created it? Also, even if he did not create it, he could probably stop the deaths from happening if he chose to. People blame Trump but why aren't religious people questioning God's role in this? You might say Trump did not stop the virus but do you think he created it?

In China I used to make people nervously laugh by mimicking the style in which government members speak, it's a particularly halting style of asking a question and then answering it, but technically it was slightly subversive.

It is a kind of way to show loyalty to mimic founders of totalitarian states from hairstyle to clothing to speech.
