It might be BS in practice, but that's pretty much the standard that currently exists.

"Freedom of speech" doesn't currently extend to forcing companies to host speech they don't want to host, so "go make your own platform" is really the only existing recourse.

what a lovely viewpoint

'people should expect to be sexually assaulted and accept that or run the risk of being fired'

Lmao please say where I said the employee had to expect it. I said the company could fire the person for saying it. Which is true because no company MUST have hire someone or keep someone hired. It doesn't mean the company is good, and the assaulted employee should seek legal action against their boss. But the company still has the right to fire them.

He didn't say they should be able to, he said they CAN. Which is completely correct.

Abolitionism in the North has leagued itself with Radical Democracy, and so the Slave Power was forced to ally itself with the Money Power; that is the great fact of the age.

I mean they did go after Parler to be fair.

I'm no conspiracy nut myself but if Trump tried to set up his own website/social media platform "big tech" (ugh, I hate using their lingo...) would find a way to shut it down.

Not shilling for anything, merely stating they fact that the law is on their side.
If you disagree with that then your problem is with the law.

I know it was removed from the app stores but like I said, Trump still has the option to go make his own website and as far as I am aware, there has been no move against him doing that.

that's not an ISP
that's a marketplace deciding they don't want to be held liable for enabling people to break the law

Not to say that these platforms or companies are somehow allies of the left, no not in the slightest.
But with Trumps constant bashing of Facebook and Twitter and after the Capitol Riot they came to view Trump as an existential threat.

We can trust these corporations to always serve their own self-interest, even if the sometimes puts them in opposition to the right, that doesn't make them Leftist.

Given the current world situation, I think everyone has forgotten that and has started taking its existence for granted.

It was actually completely brought down as far as being American oriented is concerned. Servers and everything. And like a dimwit JM decided to piggyback Parler on Russian servers.

And like I side, the minute he did Google and others would collaborate to force it from public access. Like what was done to Parler.
