Ailurocracy Thread I: Shall some national leaders be feline?

There are lots of problems in the world that happen because of dictators. To make sure that dictatorship can never rise I propose that certain leaders of nations be exclusively feline or otherwise non-human. For example the head of state should always be feline to reduce possibility of cult of personality. Similarly Minister of the Interior shouldn’t really be human either to reduce corruption and possibility of a coup happening. Chairpersons of political parties need to be feline again to prevent the party from revolving around a person.

Fellow NSGers, do you guys think this is a good idea? Let’s discuss.

P.S. The essence of ailurocracy is of course not about cats. Instead it is about a stronger form of abolition of certain offices by nominally keeping them but preventing them from functioning. Hence for example a permanent non-human head of state is equivalent to the abolition of the office of head of state.

P.S.S. I’m inspired by the Taiwanese Cat Party: https://www.taiwannews.com.tw/en/news/3667329

Animals cannot make decisions on policy issues.

That’s precisely the point. When we put a cat in any office we have abolished it.

I'm already a cat's bitch. Make one President for all I care, my life will be no different. "Hey, I licked up all the jelly from the food you put out 5 minutes ago, I need new food now!" "Yes, Mr. President." "If I don't get belly rubs I am going to nuke a random country, might be Iran, might be Norway, do you want to roll those dice?"

Then you would collapse a country because no decisions can be made.
Furthermore, having an animal as the head of state will lead to the handler becoming the power-behind-the-throne dictator.

Also, the Cat Party is a joke party.

Another point, this does not work for Parliamentary democracies.

This is but another case of a domestic feline supremacist worldview. Many felines lived their warm, privileged life off the industrial output of human capitalism, which has disproportionately affected–even destroyed–the livelihood of other mammal families such as wolves or red pandas.

If a cat is the president then the presidency has to be purely ceremonial.

The point is precisely ensuring that the head of state is purely ceremonial, that is, we want Parliamentary democracy. I would even argue that the state becomes constitutional feline monarchy with cat pictures replacing human ones on currencies and other places where leader faces show up to permanently destroy cults of personality.

Cats rule over humans who rule over other animals. Hence it is natural for symbolic leadership of a country to be given to a member of the feline species.

I disagree. My point is precisely making heads of state purely ceremonial and look better.

Will our new feline overlords address the increase in grammatically misleading usage of the word "shall" in NationStates thread titles? If so, then long live Chairman Meow!

I'm one of the resident cat person of NationStates, I really do love and adore cats as pets, but there is no way I'm letting Chairman Meow run my home and cut down my welfare hours for more work around the house.

Then just have a Parliamentary democracy with a Ceremonial President, like every other Parliamentary Republic.

Yup and the president needs to be feline and occupy more space on news than the human PM.

I’m serious. Political news should be mostly about feline leaders putting their paws on documents and visiting places.
