I'm not going to let him off the hook if he fails to undo Trump's executive orders. There is literally no reason he can't do that on the first day. He can have his staffers do all the work of figuring out what needs to go and typing them up and then he just has to take a fifteen minute break on inauguration day to sign his name a bunch of times.

It's what Obama did. He went straight from the podium to a desk and signed and EO closing Guantanamo Bay...

...buuuuut...

America seems to need a globally spectacular reason not to vote Republican, like crashing the global economy or screwing up a global pandemic.. it's amazing really.

Sure OK but that's not the point I was making.

Who has to own this? Everyone with a Republican Party card? Everyone that voted Republican? Everyone that didn't vote Biden?

This "us vs. them" shtik is very distracting and it feels like it's leading up to some bouts of indiscriminate shouting.

They remain relevant, in part, by being appealing to the parts of the country that Democrats don't appeal to (or, sometimes, actively hold in disdain).

Because they built it to be that way.

Defunding education, Trickle Down Economics, strategically killing and funding industries, Gerrymandering, etc... is all part of their plan to try and achieve domination over the country.

Some people pay the exact wrong amount of attention to politics and think there's a new president on election night.

Before the Capitol storming I've seen a few people confused as to why Biden didn't fix things yet.

And the main reason they took the House is because they tricked the Democrats into pushing an extremely unpopular right-wing idea, the individual insurance mandate, into the health care bill, and then all unanimously opposed it. That was actually quite a brilliant strategy.

It would take some changes to how our elections work for that to become practical. At the very least, we should do away with the current two major parties, as they've overstayed their welcome.

*Inhales*

"Global pandemic" is redundant because "pan" means "all" in this context and "demic" means "the people," meaning the etymology of "pandemic" is literally "all the people." And because the clinical definition of a pandemic is a disease that has spread to multiple continents, the word "global" is implied bu default. The disease is now on Antarctica, too, so it is global, but that word does not need to be overtly included. THE END! Thank you, and good night!
