We sometimes have problems in the NW with people carving initials and the like into whales (usually when they're dead or dying and wash up on the beach, but I think sometimes it's happened at sea), which is gross and weird, so I was worried they actually took a knife to the poor thing's flesh. Etching on algae is still probably distressing for it but at least not so permanent or bizarrely cruel.

So far the biggest security leak seems that all pictures and videos uploaded on parler weren't autopurged from their exif data which is an extreme security issue from parlers side itself.

Theres also talk that becoming a verified user on Parler required uploading an Driver ID or so. I am not sure if the crawlers were able to access this data somehow. The hacker had in any case access to higher privilege functions in the network. Ontop of that parlers internal structure and setup seem to have been rather... shady.
