That is an indictment of the Capitol's defenses, not an endorsement of the slick, machine-like efficiency of a carefully-orchestrated coup plot. They did a sloppy job and got unlucky. No putschist worth their salt leaves the success or failure of their scheme in the hands of fortune and a mob if they can help it (and if they'd put a minimal amount of thought into it or been willing to stick their necks out even a millimeter further, they could've helped it).

Description reads like Pence or whoever's in charge at the WH (or maybe the Pentagon?) issued it on his behalf, rather than it being a portent of an imminent second attempt.

So the biggest thing for me, and probably my favorite cabinet pick, is that the Democrats controlling the Senate very likely means we get our first ever Native American Secretary of Interior, and that makes me extremely happy.

Tbf it is (somewhat) disappearing. And people deep down don’t like change, it scares them, and scared people get angry and violent.

Can't fire your veep. They have to resign, die, or be impeached. And no, it's not at all legal, we've basically witnessed a bloodless counter-coup against Trump by... well, it appears the entirety of the rest of the US government and military, or almost the entirety. Historians are going to go nuts about this in a few decades (if there are historians, or people, I guess).

Some of our unique cultural traditions that these conscientious preservationists are seeking to protect include:

- brutally mistreating any non-WASP man minority
- cutting a swathe of devastation across the globe in campaigns of avarice and/or frivolous bloodlust
- worshipping and prioritizing money and the financial over every other facet of the human experience
- invoking divine favor as an excuse for any and every misdeed

That's pretty vague. Why are you against these things? Because you tend to just repeat catchphrases rather than define any positions, so I actually have no idea why you support Trump.

"He's against that" is not an answer by the way, I'm asking why you are against the things.

Rep. McCarthy says Trump accepted some responsibility for Capitol riot. I honestly don't believe him, especially considering Trump has yet to take any blame. But he does acknowledge they have work to reunite the GOP Conference, which is bitterly divided, especially since about 10 House Republicans are considering backing impeachment- some names include Liz Cheney & Adam Kinzinger. Even those that don't back impeachment have been incensed over GOP Leadership.

Trump wouldn't take the blame for any reason. That'd make him look like a loser, and his whole brand is based on the opposing concept.

Y'know, despite all the losing he does. I'm pretty sure I could make a casino better than he did.

I think they fear the consequences if people know, given shall we say current events.

This stupid capitol raid showed the emperor has no clothes, and they likely fear what would happen on Inauguration Day if a bunch more assholes tried again.

While an integral part of the image, the nostalgic remembering has a nice glossy coat to hide all the rust and pitting, to try and sell it with sayings like “racial harmony” and “the natural order”.

Thing is they’re starting to believe their own bullshit.
