Well, I mean freedom of expression does apply, even at the capitol. I certainly don't sympathize with neo-confederates, but if that were an actual law it would apply to flags of other nations, pride flags, etc.

Arresting people for violation of pandemic measures is incredibly stupid. Arrest requires very close contact, not just with the arresting officers but also with staff at the police station and jail and then if people are incarcerated in close quarters that will definitely turn into a superspreader event.

In fact it would be common sense to arrest and incarcerate as few people as possible right now. Anyone who isn't dangerous should just be given a notice to appear in court.

Also let's keep mask mandates within reason. I wear a mask on dense public streets but I'm not going to put on a mask when I'm walking through the forest.

In his comment about allowing an orderly transition of power to Biden, he calls the last four years "the greatest first term" and that this is "only the start" of making America great again. So, as much as you are right in that his chances of being nominated are... well, not good, it's certainly being implied that he doesn't think he's done with the Presidency.
